Academics

A rigorous, Christ-centered curriculum designed to build strong minds and faithful hearts.

Abeka Curriculum

Victory Baptist Academy uses the Abeka curriculum, a time-tested, Bible-based program that emphasizes phonics, traditional math, strong grammar, and a biblical worldview in every subject.

Abeka materials are known for their academic rigor, character-building content, and focus on developing independent thinkers who can articulate and defend a Christian worldview.

  • Phonics-based reading and spelling instruction
  • Traditional, mastery-based mathematics
  • Strong grammar, writing, and penmanship
  • History and science taught from a biblical perspective
  • Daily Bible instruction and Scripture memorization

NWEA Standardized Testing

Students in elementary and middle grades participate in NWEA MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) Growth assessments. These computerized, adaptive tests measure student growth in reading, language usage, and mathematics throughout the school year.

NWEA testing helps our teachers identify each student's strengths and areas for growth, personalize instruction, and track long-term academic progress.

  • Computer-adaptive assessments
  • Measures growth over time, not just grade-level performance
  • Detailed reports for teachers and parents
  • Informs individualized instruction and intervention

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Field trips, hands-on science, and civics experiences bring lessons to life.

Students studying marine life with dip nets in a Florida estuary
Marine science in action — students exploring local estuaries as part of our hands-on science program.
Students visiting a state legislator's office during a civics field trip
A civics field trip to Tallahassee — students meeting with elected officials and learning how government works.
